    Quick update:
Anna is experiencing a growth spurt! She is eating like crazy and is having trouble sleeping. I've also noticed that the pants that were too big just a few months ago when school started are now almost too small!

Luke and I had a cute little conversation about the new baby last night. We were snuggling on the couch before bedtime, and he plopped down on my tummy. Then it went like this:

Mom: Luke buddy you need to be careful! You don't want to squish the baby.
    Luke: Baby crying?
Mom: No the baby isn't crying.
    Luke: Ya, mom, baby crying.
Mom: Well yes Luke babies cry, but ours isn't crying yet. It's sleeping.
Luke: (makes snoring sound) Baby sleeping.
Mom: Yes Luke the baby is sleeping. Are you excited to have a new baby in the house?
    Luke: Ick. Babies.
    Mom: Babies are icky?
    Luke: Ya, ick. Babies.
Mom: Don't you want to be a big brother?
    Luke: hmmm....yea!

It was so fun to watch his little thought process. I swear I could see it when he was thinking about a baby in Mom's tummy and a new baby coming soon. So precious!

It's only been a couple weeks since the last update, but wow have we been busy!

Our friends Adam and Cindy came to visit two weeks ago. They live in Rush City, so we don't get to see them as often as we'd like to. They have 4 kids and everyone had so much fun playing! The "older" kids - Anna, Hunter, Austin, and Josie - had a Christmas parade and played dress up all weekend. Luke had fun playing too - he especially liked baby Isabel! She's 6 months old and I was impressed at how well he did with her. He tried to poke her in the eye a couple times (he was just pointing out her eyes, ears, etc.) but he hasn't quite learned how to be gentle with babies yet. :)

We had Thanksgiving with the Krueger side of the family at our house. It was so fun to have everyone here and playing. The food of course was awesome (my sister makes the best cranberries and my dad's turkey ROCKS!). Brent also made a ham like his mom does and it was SO GOOD. We didn't even have that many leftovers! My favorite part of Thanksgiving this year was when Luke decided to play the piano for us. He takes it so seriously! It's hilarious to watch him make a song go from soft to loud, and he even wiggles with the beat. My mom and dad think he might be a little musical...oh would I love that!

Anna had a sleepover at her cousins' house on Thursday night, and then on Friday she had a sleepover at home with her cousins Shaina and Amelia! Fun! Luke even got included in on the fun a little bit. He got to watch a movie with the girls before bedtime last night - How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the cartoon version of course!).

We put up the Christmas tree yesterday. Luke was just curious about what I was doing with that big box. He sat there and watched me, and when he realized what I was putting together, he goes, "Oh! Wow! Tee (Tree)!" Once we got all the ornaments on (he was a big helper at that too!) and plugged it in he was just mesmerized. It was so fun to see his reactions! Especially now that he says so much...

Luke's vocabulary has EXPLODED! My little man of few words all the sudden is a jabber mouth. I can't believe all the things he is picking up. My latest favorites are "Wow!" and when he makes a "hmmm..." sound when I ask him a question, as if he is contemplating the right answer. I also like when he uses "please" and "thank you"! He's even talking in sentences. Some of his words are still hard to understand, or only we know what he's saying, but most of them are pretty clear!

The rest of the weekend we are enjoying having off and just relaxing. Next weekend we have Anna's dance performances at nursing homes and on Saturday night Anna and I have tickets to go see Hairspray! Can't wait!

We had parent-teacher conferences yesterday for Anna. They went wonderfully of course! Mrs. Franks said, "I don't even have much to tell you guys. She's awesome!" The teacher did mention that she struggles with feeling like Anna is getting challenged enough. Even though most of the things they are learning Anna already knows, Mrs. Franks said that Anna doesn't seem to get bored and is very patient and willing to help her friends. It was fun to see some of Anna's school work and see how she did on the testing. The goal in Kindergarten for numbers is to be familiar with 1-31, and be able to recognize them even out of sequence. Anna went to 100 before the teacher stopped her! Yeah I know I'm bragging a bit here, but I really can't help it! We're so proud of her!!!

Luke got his first "real" haircut this week. My friend Holly did it for us, and he sat still like a total champ. I couldn't believe it. I'd NEVER seen him sit still. EVER. He looks so cute! His curls are still there, they're just shorter. I told him he looked like a little man and he pointed to himself and said, "I man!" haha!

This weekend we have our friends from Rush City MN coming to visit. They have 4 kids and we are so excited to see them! We haven't seen them since shortly after Luke was born, so we're pumped to see how the kids have changed. Anna's excited too - she loves having people at the house to entertain, just like her mother!

    HAPPY ELECTION DAY!!!

Halloween is over, and the kids have tons of candy to prove it! They both had so much fun trick or treating. I didn't know if Luke would enjoy it the way my outgoing little Anna does, but he proved me wrong. He followed his big sister up to the door of the first house, let Anna say trick or treat, and then was THRILLED when they put candy in his little bucket! He waved and yelled "bye!" to the candy-givers and came running down the sidewalk, "MOM! CANDY! MORE!" So off to the next house they ran. He was such a trouper. He walked almost the whole way (we covered about 8 blocks)! When we got to the very last block he wanted to ride in the stroller, but that's it. And his poor little hands were all red from carrying that heavy candy bucket. He WOULD NOT let me empty some of it into the baby bag and wouldn't let me carry it either. Every time I offered he very adamantly yelled "NO!" That kid was very territorial about his hard-earned candy.

Anna's friend Halle lives down the street from us, and when we got to her house for trick or treating, we noticed all the beautifully carved pumpkins along the sidewalk. They had one that said Happy Halloween, a skull and crossbones, and even one carved with the shape of the state of MN with the Twins logo in the middle! Anna of course couldn't let this sight go without a comment, "Wow! Mom, they must have had professionals carve their pumpkins!" Oh my goodness to be so young and just think there's people out there who are professional pumpkin carvers. :)

Anna also had a lot of fun showing her little brother how trick or treating is done. She loves Halloween as much as her mama does! I love that she's so gracious about it too. She always said thank you without being prompted, and a lot of the neighbors commented on how nice she was to help her little brother. What a joy Halloween was this year!

Anna's birthday party was on Saturday, and she had such a good time with her little friends. I can't get over the manners some of those kids have - I heard a lot of pleases and thank yous from them the whole time. It was great to see she's made such nice friends at school. She got a lot of great presents too, and all the partiers had fun playing with them after they ate cake!

Luke had a good time at Anna's party yesterday too. He had so much fun running around with all the other kids. He even got really excited when he opened his treat bag. He pulled out the little spider eraser and just shouted with excitement! hahaha, he's easy to please I guess. He did have a little jealousy at Anna's new presents, but she was nice enough to share some of them with him.

Anna and I went to High School Musical 3 this afternoon. I think I was just as excited to see it as she was! Even though those movies are geared toward kids, they really are pretty good flicks! It was fun to go somewhere "just the girls".

We are really looking forward to Halloween this Friday! Luke was going to wear Anna's old cow costume, but he HATES it. He yells and tries to pull it off himself and says "No! Mom! No!" so I dont know if that will work for us on Friday or not. He does have a Halloween shirt he could wear, so we might just have to go with that. :)

I am almost to the end of this miserable first trimester! I am praying that the nausea will go away in a couple weeks...

Brent and I went to a wedding in Sioux Falls this weekend, so Anna and Luke got to stay home with Omi. They had so much fun! Anna even said, "Mom, Omi is so nice. She lets me do whatever I want. Did your grandmas let you do whatever you wanted when you were little?" How cute is that?

Oh my gosh, Luke has been learning a new word almost daily, and his body parts are no exception. He can point to and name his hair, ears, eyes, nose, mouth, belly, feet, and butt. :) But this one I did not see coming...
On Saturday morning, we were eating breakfast before we left for the wedding. Luke was standing on his chair while I asked him "Where's your nose? Where's your eyes? Where's your belly?" He dutifully pointed and said each part I asked about. Then, WITHOUT being prompted, he points to his boy parts and says, "Weenie! Weenie!" Nice, huh?

    Happy Birthday Anna!

Anna turns 6 years old today. We are celebrating with a "family party" tomorrow night at our house with Omi, Grampy, Auntie Paula, Uncle Joe, Auntie Kelly, all Anna's cousins, and Papa.

Her "kid party" is next weekend, the 25th. She wanted a Halloween themed-party again this year. I can't wait to see all the costumes!

    This past weekend was busy!

We went to Kimball for Uncle Brian and Denise's wedding. Anna was the flower girl (her 4th time!) and Daddy was the best man. The kids had so much fun dancing - and the grownups had fun too! What a blast that dance was. I only wish I could have stayed longer! I took Luke home to bed at about 10 pm. He was beyond partied out.

I posted a few pics from the wedding and a few others in the September album. We've been so busy with Brent hauling beets and me not feeling well - I hardly have enough energy to even make it downstairs to get on the computer, so I'm sure the updates will be fewer until I'm back to "normal"! :)

    HERE WE GO AGAIN!!!!!

We are so excited to report that we are expecting Massmann baby #3 sometime in May! While we thought maybe we'd wait awhile to let the secret out, the baby is not letting us wait! I have been awfully sick this time around - making it impossible to keep it to ourselves. The nausea is just horrible this time. I was awfully sick when I was pregnant with Anna too, but it wasn't so bad because I didn't already have children to chase after! I know the awful feeling will pass, it's just so strange to plan my day around how close I am to a bathroom so I can throw up if I need to. :) I got very lucky with my pregnancy with Luke - not really any nausea, just tiredness and back aches. I'd take that any day over this!!!!

Anna is so excited to have another sibling. She's even said that the new baby can sleep in her room, she wouldn't mind sharing at all. She said we can set up the pack and play right next to her bed. How sweet is that? She of course is hoping for a sister. I told her it's whatever God gives us, and that's that.

Luke has no clue. He's only 18 months old, so it's not like there's any understanding of what's going on. I've told him there's a baby in Mommy's tummy, but he just laughs and tries to tickle me. He'll get it once the baby comes around!

I have my first appointment next Monday, so I'll keep everyone updated!

What a fun weekend we had!

Brent's class reunion was on Saturday in Kimball. The kids had so much fun running around with all his classmates' children. They were both so good. Luke was busy as usual, but not naughty. :) In fact I was the only mother that I noticed that had to keep chasing after their kid. The others were playing so nicely and Luke kept running from the picnic shelter out into the POURING rain. Not just sprinkling...the hard rain that makes your car hydroplane. He thought it was hysterical to run out one door, around the building, and into the other door, all while Mommy was chasing him. He was giggling the whole time and every now and then he'd stop to splash in a puddle. I was a disheveled mess by the time the rain stopped! What an impression to make on the classmates of Brent's that I hadn't met yet! Poor Brent, he had to introduce his crazy looking wife to his old friends! With the rain and the running around, my hair had gone from this nice little coif to a big frizzy mess. I had Luke's snot all over my nice black shirt, and sand all over my shoes from bringing Anna to the swings and pushing her on them. :) But what fun it was!!!!

Luke is FINALLY cutting his eye teeth. He's been teething for what seems like forever, and just in the last week or so I've seen the white teeth pushing through his gums! All four of them at once of course. He doesn't do anything halfway - it's always full boar with that kid.

I'll post some pics later this evening from the reunion!

Rebekah:  We love checking all your updates! Marit is just now getting her eye teeth too. I am sure even with the rain, sand and snot, that you made a great impression on all Brent's classmates!
